Afia Makes Impact to End Homelessness in Washtenaw County

AFIA, INC. MAKES $50,000 CONTRIBUTION TO HELP END HOMELESSNESS IN WASHTENAW COUNTY

Ann Arbor, Michigan (December 31st, 2015) – Afia Inc., a healthcare consultancy firm, announced today that it is giving back to the community with a donation of $50,000 to 5 organizations in Washtenaw County, MI.

“We are truly excited to be able to make a major impact in our community and help do our part to end homelessness for individuals and families in need. We have donated a portion of our profits each of the 8 years we have been in business, and are proud to be able to make the biggest donation in our company’s history by donating $50,000 of our total donations this year to end homelessness” – Jeremy Nelson, CEO

Afia made contributions of $10,000 each to the following organizations:

  • Alpha House – Temporary shelter, food, and support services for children and their families experiencing homelessness
  • Shelter Association of Washtenaw County – Emergency shelter, 75-bed temporary residence, meals, housing placement assistance, health care, HIV/AIDS testing, job-seeking assistance, mental health advocacy, support groups, literacy support, resource referrals, and other services for adults experiencing homelessness.
  • Salvation Army Staples Family – a 35-bed emergency homeless shelter for families and veterans which is operated by The Salvation Army of Washtenaw County.
  • Ozone House – Services for youth ages 10-20 (and their families) experiencing crisis or conflict, including those who are runaways, homeless, abused, or neglected
  • SafeHouse Center – Temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children.
