William E. Chavey, MD, MS

Biography
Dr. Chavey graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 1992 and then proceeded to the University of Michigan where he completed his residency in Family Medicine in 1995. After two years at the University of North Carolina, he returned to the University of Michigan where he has been on the faculty in the Department of Family Medicine since 1997 and is currently Service Chief for the Department. He, and colleagues, founded Emmaus Health in 2014 as a way to create a model for Catholic outpatient primary care —- initially in Ann Arbor, Michigan but with an eye toward extending the model to other communities throughout the country.

Clinically, Dr. Chavey practices general Family Medicine but has expertise in inpatient medicine and in complex chronic illness, most specifically cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Chavey is a native Texan (Hook ‘em Horns!) but now enjoys living in Ann Arbor(Go Blue!) with his wife and seven children. They are members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Ann Arbor.
